I.F Atmosphere

A speculative artwork for the hedgehog idea I'm playing around with which I figured could double for Illustration Friday this week.
Bonfire Night - an exciting atmosphere for children but not always so great for hedgehogs (remember to check bonfires before lighting them :) ) Luckily this little hedgehog has a friend to help him out and feed him.

I've not done much artwork lately, but to prove I'm not too lazy, here are a few initial sketches for a hedgehog related project I've just started work on.

I.F: Breakfast

This weeks picture for Illustration Friday, I decided to go for illustrating a recent memorable breakfast of mine so I went for the first one I had, pancakes, during my week in New York. I remember having to adjust to the rather large portions!

This was quite different to what I usually do - I never seem to draw much in the way of food.

A quick card illustration

For my cousin who is doing a MA which is something to do with conservation, and his dissertation is on bees, so I did a few plants and wildlife to try and cover the topic :)

I quite like drawing cute little garden creatures, the problem is I don't always know what to do with their many legs - I stopped in the middle of a centipede because I couldn't work out how to place them!

I have a new character who is invading my sketchbook at the moment - Freddie Wiggles, the
underconfident earwig, and he seems to be bringing his friends with him too. He came about because I thought drawing a cute earwig would cure my fear of them; I don't think it is working but I am quite fond of Freddie all the same :)

All cats love fish but fear to wet their paws

First in a set of 6 pieces I plan on doing based on cat phrases/sayings.
My personal favourite is 'as nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs', I am looking forward to doing that one!
