I.F: Breakfast

This weeks picture for Illustration Friday, I decided to go for illustrating a recent memorable breakfast of mine so I went for the first one I had, pancakes, during my week in New York. I remember having to adjust to the rather large portions!

This was quite different to what I usually do - I never seem to draw much in the way of food.

A quick card illustration

For my cousin who is doing a MA which is something to do with conservation, and his dissertation is on bees, so I did a few plants and wildlife to try and cover the topic :)

I quite like drawing cute little garden creatures, the problem is I don't always know what to do with their many legs - I stopped in the middle of a centipede because I couldn't work out how to place them!

I have a new character who is invading my sketchbook at the moment - Freddie Wiggles, the
underconfident earwig, and he seems to be bringing his friends with him too. He came about because I thought drawing a cute earwig would cure my fear of them; I don't think it is working but I am quite fond of Freddie all the same :)

All cats love fish but fear to wet their paws

First in a set of 6 pieces I plan on doing based on cat phrases/sayings.
My personal favourite is 'as nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs', I am looking forward to doing that one!

A work in progress

There are a few key things missing from this. I don't know if anyone can guess exactly what is going on yet. (The clue is cats and fishing)

Have you ever written down an important date in your diary only to have a hamster come along and eat it?

First attempt at using Illustration Friday's prompt - a good way to keep the creative ideas going post graduation, I think!
