Quick Update

Been a while since I posted anything here so here is an illustration I did for a birthday card about a month ago :)

Been a while since I uploaded anything, so here's a remade illustration from an old uni children's book project. I'm planning on remaking the whole book, once I have re-figured the style properly; this isn't quite what I was after, but it's getting there :)

I was working in the Cats Protection shop on Saturday, thinking over this weeks Illustration Friday topic, when suddenly, the title of a prominently displayed book caught my eye:

"Warning: When I am an old woman I shall wear purple"

And so, upon having a closer look I discovered this poem by Jenny Joseph, which conjured up a lot of wonderful imagery in my head (and from having a quick browse through the other images entered into I.F this week, I see others have been inspired by it too!) So here is my illustration based on it:

I.F Layer

I have decided this image counts for this weeks Illustration Friday, due to the amount of layers of paper there are in it! (the small dog was made out of 6 or 7 layers alone). I love working in this way now because of the slight 3D effect it has (although it's a bit hard to see at this size).

This picture was originally used for a 'get well soon' card I made for someone.
